I used to work for a guy who would go off on rants about the metric system and other “non-American” things. He was ranting about how the British pronounce “aluminum” one day and how that’s not even how it is spelled. He was astonished to find out that there was a different spelling too.

When I decided to go back to working one job I had to decide between the trucking company which would pay me more or the translation company which employed sane and rational people.
